One day, Four Pillars head distiller Cam thought – “What would happen if you combined Four Pillars Gin with some of the best Shiraz grapes in Australia?” – Bloody Shiraz Gin, that’s what! Surrounded by the incredible calibre of cool climate fruit available around Yarra Valley, it would be crazy not to use it! So, they decided to steep local Shiraz grapes (de-stemmed, but kept mainly as whole berries) in high proof Rare Dry Gin for eight weeks. After eight weeks, they pressed the fruit, blended with more Rare Dry Gin, before bottling them into 700ml of pure gin-goodness!
The beauty of Bloody Shiraz Gin being a product of vintage means that it will never be the same. The 2019 vintage (currently on sale) was terrific for cool climate Shiraz, in particular. The season was set up with good spring rain, and January and February saw very dry conditions with the odd super bloody hot day. This combination meant the fruit quality was simply sensational, which had obviously translated to an even more sensational BLOODY SHIRAZ GIN!!!
To bring you a full G&T experience, we’ve paired with Long-Rays Tonic (low in sugar and made locally from native Australian ingredients), as well as 3x individually picked botanicals to complement the flavour of the gin. Alternatively, if you’re already stocked up on tonic, you can replace it with any two additional garnishes from our shop (just let us know upon check out).
